TRANSCRIPT
From the Cumberland Gap to the Atlantic Ocean, this is
Virginia Water Radio for the week of July 30, 2012.
This week we feature a song by a Fredericksburg musician and
instrument maker that reflects on two of life’s most valuable treasures:
friendship and flowing water. Have a
listen for about a minute.
MUSIC
You’ve been listening to part of “Best Friends,” by Bob
Gramann on his 2000 album “That Squirrel Song.”
Since the early 1990s, Bob Gramann has been writing and performing songs
that raise listeners’ awareness of human connections, natural resources, and
the intersections between them. Much of
his music celebrates Virginia’s Rappahannock River and its watershed full of
human history and natural history. Thanks
to Mr. Gramann for permission to use this week’s music.
For other water sounds and music, and for more Virginia
water information, visit our Web site at virginiawaterradio.org,
or call us at (540) 231-5463. From the
Virginia Water Resources Research Center in Blacksburg, I’m Alan Raflo,
thanking you for listening, and wishing you health, wisdom, and good water.
